Legislative Update (March 14, 2016)

Monday, March 14, 2016

Dear Neighbors,

Hats off to the Burnsville boys hockey team for their great season. The Blaze made it to state but fell to eventual state champion, Wayzata. Congrats on making it to state, guys; you made us proud!

Session Reconvenes

We returned to St. Paul on Tuesday for the 2016 legislative session. We have about 10 weeks to complete business before we must adjourn in late May. Although we’re short on time this year, there’s lots to accomplish for Minnesota and our area. I’ll be sure to keep you posted on any big news from the Capitol as session progresses.

State of the State

On Wednesday, I attended Governor Dayton’s State of the State address at my alma mater, the University of Minnesota. I was honored to host Savage native and U of M student, Jack Farnen. Jack represents the thousands of college students and recent college grads I’m working for in St. Paul. Like last year, I’ll continue to advocate in favor of tax relief for our residents struggling with skyrocketing education costs.

Have a great week,
