REP. DAVIDS STATEMENT REGARDING MNsure's ANNOUNCEMENT ON ENROLLMENT PROJECTIONS

Monday, February 1, 2016
ST. PAUL, MN—Representative Greg Davids, R-Preston, co-chair of the MNsure Legislative Oversight Committee, issued the following statement regarding MNsure's announcement on enrollment projections:

"I'm shocked that MNsure continues to mislead the public and lawmakers about the ongoing crisis in the MNsure system. Based on their first two years, it is unlikely that all of the people who applied through MNsure actually will complete enrollment and receive their insurance cards. Every time MNsure misses another enrollment goal, we are reminded how far MNsure is from the original promise of 450,000 enrollees by the end of this year. MNsure owes Minnesotans an explanation for why they are constantly moving the goal posts.

After $300 million in taxpayer funds wasted on a broken website, Minnesota's public health insurance systems are in worse shape than before MNsure. Private insurance premiums have skyrocketed for families and the self-employed. But MNsure and the Dayton Administration lack a vision for how to fix the mess they've made for Minnesota."
