The state of Minnesota has a refund program to help households whose property taxes jumped up.
We are at the time of year when completing our taxes falls on our “to do” list. Recent increases to our local property taxes makes many of us eligible for a special homestead credit refund. Here is how you may qualify:
- If your property tax bill went up 12% and more than $100
- The increase cannot be from improvements to your home
- There are no income restrictions to receive the refund
- The maximum amount refunded is $1,000
