ST. PAUL – Rep. Jim Knoblach, R-St. Cloud, has been invited to attend and speak at this week's National Conference of State Legislatures' annual Fiscal Leaders Seminar.
Knoblach, who chairs the Minnesota House Ways and Means Committee, is attending the Fiscal Leaders Seminar hosted by the NCSL Thursday and Friday in New Orleans. The NCSL indicates the seminar will "provide state legislators and senior legislative staff with the latest information to address fiscal challenges." This includes an economic outlook, state and federal budget updates, higher education funding and more. Knoblach has been invited to speak about state higher education funding issues and he said the NCSL will be paying for his trip.
"Each state has its own unique challenges, but we also share many similarities," Knoblach said. "This is an outstanding opportunity to both share what we have done to improve Minnesota, and also get new ideas from other states' approaches."
