Update from Rep. Knoblach

Thursday, October 29, 2015

Dear Neighbor,

This coming Tuesday, Nov. 3, is an important election day in our area. Voters in District 742 will decide on whether to authorize spending of up to $167 million to build a new Tech High School, renovate Apollo High School, and make certain other capital improvements in the district.

I have had a number of voters ask me about polling place locations. Your polling place for the referendum may be different than your regular voting location.

This change is due to a decision by the District 742 School Board to use larger precincts for the bond referendum vote, resulting in fewer polling places. This has been done before in other school district referendum votes.

There will be 13 polling places for residents of District 742. They will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Nov. 3, and the polling place sites are as follows:

2) Apollo High School, 1000 44th Avenue North, Saint Cloud, for city of Saint Cloud Ward 3 Precinct 3; Ward 3 Precinct 4; Ward 3 Precinct 5; Ward 4 Precinct 2; City of Sartell precincts 1 and 4; and Le Sauk Township; all in Stearns County;

Property owners should have received a notice in the mail alerting them to the location of their polling place for the referendum. You can also find your polling place using this polling place finder (https://iqconnect.lmhostediq.com/iqextranet/iqClickTrk.aspx?&cid=MNS14&crop=13960.5047538.5003415.7002740&redirect=http%3a%2f%2fpollfinder.sos.state.mn.us%2f) website.

Absentee voting is also an alternative for those who feel burdened by the reduced polling locations. You can find all the information for voting absentee at this link(https://iqconnect.lmhostediq.com/iqextranet/iqClickTrk.aspx?&cid=MNS14&crop=13960.5047538.5003415.7002740&redirect=http%3a%2f%2fisd742.org%2fPage%2f1838).

Sincerely,
