SAINT PAUL, MN – Tonight, the Minnesota House of Representatives passed HF 600 on a 76-53 vote. State Rep. Raymond Dehn (DFL- Minneapolis), who strongly opposed the preemption legislation issued the following statement:
“The hypocrisy demonstrated by our current House ‘leadership’ at the Capitol is appalling. House Republicans promised to work hard to bring our state together and this destructive and divisive bill does nothing but create a wider divide. This bill is all about abolishing labor ordinances in St. Paul and Minneapolis. Preemption is an attack on our community; an attack on any possibility of enacting local earned sick leave policies and minimum wage increases to help our neighbors to get ahead and secure economic futures for their families. House Republicans should be ashamed.”
