Considine responds to February budget forecast
St. Paul, Minn. – After Minnesota Management and Budget released its February economic forecast, Rep. Jack Considine (DFL – Mankato) released the following statement:
“The presentation from Minnesota Management and Budget underscored the progress our economy has made in the last several years. A $6 billion deficit is now a $1.65 billion surplus while the economy continues to grow at a healthy pace. This is the result of responsible budgeting and policies that encourage business growth and development while protecting our workforce.
Thanks to policies enacted by Gov. Dayton and the DFL, U.S. News & World Report named Minnesota the third-best state in the nation. With the stable economic outlook, now is the time to reinvest in Minnesota’s families and focus on improving opportunities for everyone across the board.”
