Rep. Lien statement on House Sunday liquor sales vote

Monday, February 20, 2017

ST. PAUL — Today, the Minnesota House of Representatives voted to repeal Minnesota’s prohibition on Sunday liquor sales by a vote of 85-45. The bill allows sales between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., and prohibits wholesale liquor deliveries on Sundays.

Rep. Ben Lien (DFL – Moorhead) released the following statement:

"I've supported Sunday liquor sales every year I've been in the Legislature. Listening to my constituents, both consumers and liquor store owners, this is an issue people overwhelmingly support.

"Allowing for Sunday sales is a way to give consumers more choice and support to Moorhead businesses."
