SAINT PAUL, MN—Today, the Minnesota House passed HF 14 with wide bipartisan support. HF 14 will provide $35 million in general obligation bonds to subsidize the Rural Finance Authority’s loan programs for Minnesota farmers.
Deputy Minority Leader Paul Marquart (DFL-Dilworth) released the following statement:
“The bill we passed today is exactly the type of bipartisan work we need to help Minnesota’s rural communities. Our vote guarantees that the Rural Finance Authority will be able to support beginning farmers, farmers who need to restructure their debt, and farmers looking to expand their operations. Farmers are the backbone of our rural economy and when we give them the tools they need to thrive, we’re ensuring everyone in rural Minnesota thrives.”
