State Rep. JoAnn Ward Receives Appointments from House Minority Leader

Wednesday, January 18, 2017

ST. PAUL, MN - State Representative JoAnn Ward (DFL – Woodbury) has been appointed by House Minority Leader Melissa Hortman to the Council on Asian-Pacific Minnesotans and Minnesota Youth Council, and designated as the House DFL Caucus Civil Discourse Lead for the 2017 legislative session.

"Serving in these roles will enhance my ability to represent my constituents and contribute to our state,” said Rep. Ward. “I look forward to the opportunity to bring a new level of bipartisanship to the Capitol as a leader in civil discourse.  Only when we work together can we achieve more effective results across the board for all Minnesotans.”

The commissions and councils vary in membership; at least one or more DFL and GOP state representative and state senator are appointed by the Senate Majority Leader, the Senate Minority Leader, the Speaker of the House, and the House Minority Leader.

Rep. Ward encourages constituents to contact her with any questions, comments, or ideas on any legislative topic. Rep. Ward can be reached by phone at 651-296-7807 or by email at rep.joann.ward@house.mn.
