St. Paul – This morning, a bomb threat was called-in to the Sabes Jewish Community Center in St. Louis Park which led to an evacuation of the building. So far, 18 Jewish Community Centers throughout the nation have reported similar threats today. While the “all clear” was given at Sabes recently, the facility remains closed.
House Deputy Minority Leader Jon Applebaum (DFL – Minnetonka) issued the following statement:
“The threat today at Sabes is unsettling, to say the very least. I’m extremely grateful that everyone is safe, and I thank local law enforcement for its quick response. No matter their faith, every man, woman and child in our community has the right to remain free of fear and safe from violence. While I know those in our community are rightfully outraged following this threat, I hope we will give space to the local, state and federal law enforcement agencies as they investigate this incident.”
