Legislative Update- January 13, 2017

Friday, January 13, 2017

Dear Neighbors,

The Minnesota Department of Transportation has made plans to replace the Highway 169 Bridge over Nine Mile Creek with a causeway, which is a raised road across a low or wet ground. Bridge conditions require that it be replaced by 2020.  Construction and closures are scheduled to begin next Tuesday, on January 17 and the estimated time of completion is October of 2017.

For more information on how to follow the project’s progress, you can visit this link.  Additionally, if you are interested in subscribing to email updates from the Department, please do so here.

Visiting the Capitol

The Capitol restoration project has been completed and the building re-opened to the public on January 3.  I thought you may be interested in seeing these ‘before’ and ‘after’ photographs.  Public spaces have been added, are more accessible and the attention to detail within the interior is truly impressive.  Historic building preservation is a personal passion of mine and I am honored to have the opportunity to work with legislative colleagues and meet constituents in our beautiful State Capitol building.

If you are interested in booking a tour to see for yourself, you can do so here.

Please stay in touch with me on any issue you care about as we move through the session.  I appreciate your input.

Sincerely,

Paul
