Legislative Update - January 6, 2017

Happy New Year!

Tuesday was the first day of the 2017 Legislative Session at the Capitol. I stood proudly once again being sworn in as the state representative for District 27B. I am eager to get to work on the issues important to all of us.

One of our first priorities is providing relief from increases in health care costs. It is important to help Minnesotans struggling with the high costs of health insurance premiums and deductibles.

I will be serving on four committees, including the Agriculture Finance and Policy committees. Some of the most bipartisan work that gets done in St. Paul stems from the Ag committees, so I’m looking forward to finding common ground and developing real solutions to the challenges we face.

Our state’s economy is stable but there’s always more work to be done. When we prioritize the needs of Minnesota families and work together across party lines, we can all move forward together.

On an especially exciting note, the Capitol is now open after its multi-year restoration. Tours are available daily and K-12 field trips or adult groups can be scheduled in advance. Click on this link for more information
