Happy Thanksgiving

Tuesday, November 24, 2015

Dear Friends,

I just wanted to pass along my best wishes for a safe and happy Thanksgiving holiday. Thanksgiving is a time for us to gather around a table with loved ones and reflect on all the blessings we enjoy. Whether you're home for the holiday or traveling to another state, I hope you have safe travels and that it won't be too cold or snowy.

You've probably seen on the news that Governor Dayton is calling for a special session to address a new extension of expiring unemployment benefits for laid off steel workers on the Iron Range. This is now the fourth time the Governor has talked about a special session since we adjourned in June. I look forward to seeing what specific proposals the Governor has for these benefits, as well as a robust and necessary discussion on how we can improve the economy and grow jobs on the Iron Range over the long-term. Folks up in that part of the state don't just want more extensions of unemployment benefits—they want good-paying jobs that can provide support and stability for their families.

Please don't hesitate to call my office or email me directly on any issue that's important to you. You can reach my office at 651-296-5513 or email me at rep.mark.uglem@house.mn. You can also follow my updates on Facebook at www.facebook.com/repmarkuglem.

Have a great rest of your week and a very happy Thanksgiving,

Mark
