THANK YOU, VETERANS!

Wednesday, November 11, 2015

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

Happy Veterans Day! Although I believe that Americans should honor our veterans every day, each November 11th gives us a special opportunity to offer an extra “thank you” to those who have served. In our area, we are honored to have veterans ranging from World War II to those currently serving in our armed forces. I hope we’ll all take a moment today to thank and honor the veterans in our lives; needless to say, they certainly deserve it!

I’m proud to serve on the Veterans Affairs Committee at the House of Representatives where we focus on legislation to assist active and former military members and their families. We’re proud of the work we’ve accomplished this past legislative session but there’s more to do to help veterans in our state. The love they’ve shown for our nation and the personal sacrifice each has made to protect our freedom and way of life is incomprehensible for many us.

Veterans Day is also a reminder of how we as citizens can serve our veterans. If you’re interested in investing your time in a veteran-related charity, you may visit www.volunteer.va.gov for more information.

And – if you know a veteran – be sure to make them aware of these businesses offering Veterans Day deals for current and former military members. Again, thank you to all of our district’s service men and women! Without you, we wouldn’t be blessed with all of the freedoms and liberties we enjoy today. I’m humbled by your service and cannot thank you enough.

Have a great Veterans Day!

Sincerely,

Cindy
