State Representative Melissa Hortman (Brooklyn Park/Coon Rapids) has been named "100% Minnesotan" by the Minnesota League of Conservation Voters (MNLCV) for her voting record on conservation issues during the past Legislative session.
MNLCV followed the voting record of the State Legislators on 11 votes; Hortman received the award for voting 100 percent of the time with conservation priorities.
“We’re pleased to recognize Melissa for her outstanding leadership," said Paul Austin, MNLCV's Executive Director. "She understands that the protection of our natural resources is critical to growing Minnesota’s economy, safeguarding the health of our families, and preserving our treasured way of life.
Melissa is an effective champion for everyone who values Minnesota’s natural heritage."
Along with her strong voting record, Hortman was an author of the nation-leading Mercury Reduction Act which passed and was signed into law this year.
"One of my top priorities as a State Legislator is to work for the protection of our air, water and natural resources," said Hortman. "Minnesota is a great place to live and we want to ensure that future generations can also enjoy our tremendous natural resources. It is up to us to be good stewards of the land, air and water."
