News from Representative Uglem 10-15-2015

Thursday, October 15, 2015

Dear Friends,

Over the past several weeks members of the Capital Investment Committee have been touring various bonding sites in all corners of the state, including a stop to the Champlin Mill Pond Dam in our area.

Today we wrapped up our tours with a visit to many different Saint Paul bonding proposals including the Science Museum, Saint Paul College, and Fort Snelling.

I will keep you updated on our work on the Capital Investment Committee next session, and the status of any bonding projects in our community.

Good budget news
The Minnesota Management and Budget Office announced last week that revenues continue to be higher-than-expected. $136 million in total increased revenues were reported which bodes well for next month when we'll learn the exact amount of Minnesota's budget surplus. I hope we can send some of that surplus money back to the taxpayers who have worked hard to generate it, and put some of the money toward fixing our roads and bridges. I will keep you posted when those numbers are announced next month.

Lastly, congrats to the Minnesota Lynx who won their 3rd WNBA Championship in 5 years last night at the Target Center. Way to make Minnesota proud!

Take care,

Mark
