The 2016 legislative session began at noon today. Shortly I'll send thoughts on the issues that are likely to arise this session, but first I wanted to make you aware of two chances for us to connect in the coming weeks.

Senate District 64 Constituent Luncheon
Please join Sen. Cohen, Deputy Minority Leader Murphy, and me for our yearly constituent luncheon.
What: District 64 Constituent Luncheon
Who: Reps. Dave Pinto, Erin Murphy and Sen. Dick Cohen
When: Tuesday, March 22 from 11:30am-1:00pm
Where: Minnesota Senate Building - Room 2308 (95 University Ave. West, Saint Paul)
Please note the building and room change from previous years.
Box lunches and a beverage are available upon request from Cecil’s Deli at the cost of $10.50. Please order your lunch, indicating your sandwich preference (pastrami, corned beef, turkey, or veggie), by Thursday, March 17! Please bring a check payable to the Cohen Volunteer Committee on the day of the luncheon.
You’re also welcome to bring your own lunch if you choose. Please try to arrive early to allow time for parking and getting your lunch. Although parking will be at a premium during session, there are two and four hour parking meters on either side of the streets north, southwest, and southeast of the Capitol building. There is paid public parking available in Lot F, Lot Q and also metered public parking is available in surface Lot AA on the corner of University Ave. and Rice Street. A map of the parking facilities in the Capitol complex is attached.
