Dear Neighbors,
Last week, Ka Joog awarded me with a certificate of appreciation for the legislation I worked on this year to help Somali youth in Minnesota. Ka Joog is an amazing organization that’s focused on empowering Somali youth through education, community and social ties, and summer programs. Their work not only improves the lives of the next generation and strengthens our community, it serves to stem the recruitment efforts of terrorist organizations.
Mohamed Farah, the Executive Director of Ka Joog, thanked me for my “support and dedication to the Somali community” as well as my “leadership in advocacy for Somali youth” during the 2015 legislative session.
I’m proud to be able to use my position at the Capitol to support the diverse communities in our legislative district. As always, feel free to contact me with any issues or concerns you have.
Sincerely,
Phyllis
