Rep. Erin Murphy to be inducted into American Academy of Nursing

SAINT PAUL, MN – State Rep. Erin Murphy (DFL-Saint Paul) will be inducted into the American Academy of Nursing this weekend at their national policy conference in Washington D.C.. The American Academy of Nursing is the nation’s preeminent nursing organization creating policy-related initiatives to reform America’s health care system.

“I am honored by this recognition. I will use my fellowship to prepare nurses across the country for elected office and appointed leadership,” remarked Rep. Murphy. “I look forward to joining the fellows in the Academy as we work to strengthen the nursing profession and as I execute my leadership in discussions of health policy, delivery and finance. We reduce health disparities, increase access, and move forward with reforms that focus on people’s overall health and mental well-being.”

As an inductee, known as a fellow, Erin will be joining more than 2,200 of nursing’s most accomplished leaders in nursing education, management, practice, and research. Fellows are nominated and recognized for their extraordinary work and commitment to improving our health care system through meaningful reforms and leadership.

Rep. Erin Murphy is the Deputy Minority Leader of the Minnesota House of Representatives.
