New Statement from Rep. Dan Schoen regarding Rep. Mack/Kelly

Monday, September 14, 2015

SAINT PAUL, MN – State Rep. Dan Schoen (DFL – Cottage Grove) released the following statement in response to Rep. Tim Kelly and Rep. Tara Mack’s statements today regarding their accusations against law enforcement officials, stemming from their citations for public nuisance in Lebanon Hills Regional Park. Last Friday, Schoen sent a letter to Speaker Daudt asking that Rep. Kelly and Rep. Mack apologize to the law enforcement official who they had accused of lying.

“While I am glad that Rep. Kelly and Rep. Mack have apologized to the law enforcement community, I repeat my request that they apologize directly to the law enforcement official and Dakota County Sheriff’s Office whose reputations they have tarnished.

Rep. Kelly called this officer’s report an ‘absolute lie’ and Rep. Mack called it ‘completely false.’ Neither Rep. Kelly nor Rep. Mack have apologized for making those accusations. And as I stated in my letter last Friday, it is unacceptable to allow Rep. Kelly and Rep. Mack’s serious allegations to go unresolved.”
