Legislative Update - September 11, 2015

Dear Neighbors,

STATE FAIR POLL RESULTS

I hope you are enjoying the end of summer. Each year fairgoers have the opportunity to vote in a poll at the Minnesota House of Representatives booth. The poll questions are intended to gauge the public opinion on issues facing the legislature. I thought you might be interested in knowing those results.

In short, a majority of those participating in the House of Representatives state fair poll believe publicly funded preschool should be provided for the state’s youngest learners. They also support exempting Social Security income from Minnesota’s individual income tax and think the state should offer financial assistance to help local law enforcement agencies purchase body cameras.

The annual state fair poll, conducted at the booth and prepared by nonpartisan House Public Information Services, is an informal, unscientific survey of issues discussed in prior legislative sessions and may be topics of discussion in 2016.

Poll results are attached, or you may view our Youtube video.

BURNSVILLE FIRE MUSTER

After several days of fun, the Burnsville Fire Muster ends tomorrow. I encourage you to come tomorrow and watch the Community and Fire Truck Parade. The Fire Muster is a family friendly celebration that showcases our community. I’ll be in the parade tomorrow and enjoying the activities offered all day. I hope to see you there!

As always, feel free to contact my office with any questions or concerns you may have.

Sincerely,

Sandra Masin
