Legislative Update (6-30-15)

Monday, August 10, 2015

Dear Neighbors,

As we approach Independence Day this Saturday, I wanted to extend an invitation to you and your family to a number of local events occurring around the area this week.

Here is a rundown of a handful of events that are taking place around the community:

Anoka Fireworks

The city will host its 18th annual fireworks display, Friday, July 3rd beginning at dusk. The best viewing is from Castle Field (near Anoka High School at 4001 7th Ave.) Information on the event can be found here: http://www.ci.anoka.mn.us/index.asp?Type=B_BASIC&SEC={2E779FB8-6A55-4798-8A72-71A92434DE4E}

Ice Cream Social

Ice cream will be served at George Green Park (1498 6th Ave. Anoka) from Noon to 3:00pm on July 4th. Enjoy the sounds of the North Suburban Concert Band and an ice-cold refreshing root beer float, compliments of the Two Scoops and Better Values Liquor Stores. Root beer floats will be served while supplies last beginning at Noon.

2015 Anoka Classic Car Show

The Anoka Classic Car Show is a family-friendly event, taking place on Saturday evening at 5:00pm. Enter at 4th Ave. & Van Buren St. (1 block North of Main Street). Come out and enjoy the show for free, listen to great music and enjoy great food.

I hope that you have a wonderful Fourth of July holiday and are able to spend time with family and friends. It is also my hope that you spend time reflecting on the blessings that have been poured out on our great nation and the freedoms that we enjoy.

I also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the men and women who have served our nation and defending the freedoms that we are able to enjoy. Thank you for your service!

Have a Blessed Fourth of July,

Abigail
