A host of new reforms and policies passed by the legislature are set to take effect on Saturday, August 1. Among these new laws is legislation that I chief-authored known as the Right to Try Act.
This new law will allow terminally ill patients to use medication, biological products, or devices that have not received final approval from the Food & Drug Administration (FDA), but have been through the first stage of the approval process.
As I worked on this legislation, I operated with the guiding principle of providing hope to those who have none. I’m proud to say that this is one important step toward that goal.
Earlier this week, I spoke with WCCO about how this new law will bring a light of hope upon those suffering from hopelessness.
I fully believe that life is worth fighting for and government has no role in getting in the way of the pursuit of life.
