House DFL Leader Paul Thissen: Legislature will miss Representative Winkler’s impatience for injustice

Saint Paul, Minnesota- This morning, State Rep. Ryan Winkler (DFL – Golden Valley) announced he will be moving to Brussels, where his wife Jenny has accepted a position as Senior Vice President and General Counsel for Rezidor Hotel Group, a majority-owned strategic partner of Carlson Hotels, headquartered in Brussels, Belgium. As a result, he will step down from the Minnesota State Legislature this summer.

House DFL Leader Paul Thissen released the following statement:

“The legislature will miss Ryan’s wit and intelligence, but most of all we will miss his impatience with injustice. He is always willing to take on the tough fights and not back down. He drove the discussion forward about how to make our economy work better for people. His work to raise the minimum wage and improve opportunity for average Minnesotans is a tremendous legacy.

I wish Ryan and his family all the best.”
