Saint Paul, Minnesota – House DFL Leader Paul Thissen released the following statement following Governor Dayton’s announcement that he will veto the E-12 Education bill.
“I thank Governor Dayton for being a champion for Minnesota’s youngest learners and every child in this state. We will join him in the fight to ensure every one of our youngest learners has the opportunity to get ahead."
House Republicans have once again forced a special session by refusing to compromise. At every turn, their insistence on priorities that put wealthy corporate interests ahead of our kids’ future have been roadblocks to completing the work of this legislature, which has left much work undone for Minnesota families.
Now is the time to show vision for Minnesota’s future and work together to deliver the kind of results that Minnesotans expect of us.”
