SAINT PAUL, MN – This morning a fire erupted on West Broadway in North Minneapolis. Several retail businesses along this important commerce corridor have been evacuated. Fire fighters left the interior of the interior of the building after the second floor of the building gave way. They continue to battle the fire from the exterior. No injuries have been reported at this time.
Rep. Raymond Dehn (DFL-Minneapolis) released the following statement:
“I’ve been in contact with Council Memeber Blong Yang’s office and will continue to work with them to find ways we can be of assistance. I hope and pray that everyone got out and the firefighters battling this fire do so safely.
“This is yet another devastating blow to our community after the tornado of 2011 destroyed much of North Minneapolis. Broadway has continued to be an area where we’ve seen revival in North Minneapolis and I’m sure we’ll continue to see that spirit after this fire is extinguished.”
