I hope the summer has treated you well. Soon we’ll be enjoying the fall colors and preparing for the coming Holiday season. There are a few issues I would like to update you on.
SCHOOL REFERENDUMS FOR ISD 833 AND ISD 622
I’ve heard a lot of discussion from people about the upcoming school board referendums. Some of it, as is often the case with politics, hasn’t been constructive or fact based. To help inform District 833 residents about this, the District will be hosting informational community conversations about them.
If you’re interested in learning more about the referendums, there are some coming events scheduled for 6:30 P.M. at Park High School lecture hall Sept. 29, Oct. 13 and 27; 6:30 P.M. at Woodbury High School Oct. 7 and 21; and 10 A.M. at the District Service Center Board Room Oct. 1 and Oct. 22.
School District 622 will also be holding community meetings to provide more information and gather community input from 5:00 to 6:00 P.M. on Wednesday, Sept. 30 and Tuesday, Oct. 27. Both meetings will be located at District 622 Education Center, 2520 East 12th Avenue, North St. Paul. You can find more information at ISD 622 website.
HEADING TO WASHINGTON D.C.
I’ll be heading to Washington for the Women Legislators Lobby (WiLL) National Conference. WiLL is national nonpartisan network of women legislators who work together to influence policy and budget issues. The group has grown to comprise more than one third of women legislators in the country.
While I’m in Washington I’ll also be visiting a dedicated bus rapid transit system similar to what’s proposed for the Gold Line of the Gateway corridor. It will be an interesting learning experience and I hope to hear more from you as the discussions over this issue continue.
As always, feel free to contact my office with any questions of concerns you may have.
