STATE REP. CARLY MELIN APPOINTED TO KEY HOUSE COMMITTEES NAMED VICE-CHAIR OF THE JUDICIARY FINANCE AND POLICY COMMITTEE
ST. PAUL, MN. – State Representative Carly Melin (DFL–Hibbing) has been appointed by Speaker-Elect Paul Thissen to serve on several key House Committees including: Capital Investment, Taxes, Early Childhood and Youth Development Policy, and Rules and Legislative Administration for the 2013-14 Session. In addition, Rep. Melin was selected as Vice-Chair of the Judiciary Finance and Policy Committee.
“It is an honor to be assigned to these legislative committees and for the opportunity to help shape legislation that will directly impact the residents of Northeast Minnesota,” said Rep. Melin. “Jobs are always my top priority so serving on Capital Investment is the perfect opportunity for me to push for wise infrastructure investments that will create construction and long-term jobs.”
Melin added, “Revamping our tax system so it is fair and equitable and ensuring our youngest learners have access to early education opportunities are also high priorities. These committee assignments will allow me to help shape laws that impact the daily lives of my constituents.”
Rep. Melin is an attorney who practices law at Prebich Law Office in Hibbing. She is urging constituents to contact her if they have any questions, comments, or ideas about legislative issues or the upcoming legislative session.
