NEWS RELEASE

LEGISLATURE’S REFORM 2.0 AGENDA SUPPORTED BY REP. SCHOMACKER

ST. PAUL - After achieving a significant amount of savings to the state with last session’s reform package, State Representative Joe Schomacker (R-Luverne) said he was pleased to see the priorities contained in this year’s Reform 2.0 agenda.

“Minnesota is lagging behind other states and even the federal government when it comes to adapting to new technologies and creating a more efficient government,” Schomacker said. “The Reform 2.0 plan contains dozens of initiatives brought forward by the public that will create a better government and economy.”

Schomacker said legislative leaders recently traveled the state to gather input from citizens, business leaders, and local government officials. Many of them were used to form the Reform 2.0 agenda, a plan that seeks to improve state government efficiency, our economy, and our education and health care systems.

Schomacker said there are dozens of proposals that fall under these three categories, and plans to discuss more of the specific ideas in future legislative updates.

“Lawmakers are always looking for ways to create jobs and better spend taxpayer dollars,” Schomacker said. “We approved dozens of reforms last year, and I believe Reform 2.0 will continue to build on this success.”
