Minnesota’s 2011 Legislative Session officially began January 4 with Joe Schomacker (R-Luverne) and 133 other state representatives being sworn into office during a ceremony at the State Capitol.
“It is an honor to be elected by the people of southwestern Minnesota,” Schomacker said. “Lawmakers will have a lot to accomplish during this session, and I am anxious to get to work.”
Most of Rep. Schomacker’s work during the first months of session will take place in House Committees. Schomacker said he was pleased with his recent committee assignments, as he will serve on the Agriculture and Rural Development Policy and Finance, Health and Human Services Finance, and Judiciary Policy and Finance committees.
Schomacker has also moved into his new legislative office, which is Room 433 of the State Office Building adjacent to the Capitol. All state representatives are housed in this building.
“I hope my constituents will feel free to stop by my new office if they are visiting the area,” Schomacker said. “I also encourage anyone to contact me if they have questions or concerns.”
Schomacker can be reached by phone at (651) 296-5505. He can also be contacted via e-mail at rep.joe.schomacker@house.mn, or via U.S. Mail at 433 State Office Building, St. Paul, MN 55155.
