Tim O'Driscoll sworn in as state representative
St. Paul – Minnesota’s 2011 Legislative Session officially began January 4 with Tim O’Driscoll (R-Sartell) and 133 other state representatives being sworn into office during a ceremony at the State Capitol.
“We have some challenges ahead of us, there’s no question about that,” O’Driscoll said. “I look forward to working through those challenges with Governor Dayton and legislators from both sides of the aisle.”
Most of Rep. O’Driscoll’s work during the first months of session will take place in House Committees. O’Driscoll said he was pleased with his recent committee assignments, as he will serve on the Commerce and Regulatory Reform Committee.
“Business owners spend too much time doing paperwork instead of the things they need to do to create jobs. Regulatory reform is going to be a key part of getting Minnesotans back to work,” O’Driscoll said.
O’Driscoll’s service to veterans with Central Minnesota's Warrior to Citizen/Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Committee was recognized with an appointment to the Veterans Service Division of the State Government Finance Committee.
He was also appointed to the Education Reform Committee and the Government Operations and Elections Committee.
