State Representative Rena Moran Recalls Favorite Teacher on National Teacher Appreciation Day

On National Teacher Appreciation Day, State Representative Rena Moran reflected on the impact of her favorite teacher:

“I don't remember much about the first grade but I remember my teacher. Today I recognize Mrs. Righter! In the first grade I stuttered, was very quiet but smart. Her impression on me is as vivid as the memory I have of her and I walking to the corner store together after she came into my neighborhood to speak with my mother. She took the time to work with me in order to let my light shine through and for that I will always remember her dearly."
