St. Paul – Minnesota’s 2011 Legislative Session officially began January 4 with Ernie Leidiger (R-Mayer) and 133 other state representatives being sworn into office during a ceremony at the State Capitol.
“It is an honor to be elected by the people of District 34A,” Leidiger said. “I thank this community again for your support and encouragement, and I look forward to serving as your voice in the legislature. While the stakes are high and many hard decisions lie ahead, I am ready to bring responsibility back to government and job growth back to our community.”
Most of Rep. Leidiger’s work during the first months of session will take place in House Committees. Leidiger said he was pleased with his recent committee assignments, as he will serve on the Jobs and Economic Development, Public Safety and Crime Prevention, State Government, and Transportation committees.
Leidiger has also moved into his legislative office, which is Room 415 of the State Office Building adjacent to the Capitol. All state representatives are housed in this building.
“Constituents are welcome to stop by my office or call anytime with questions, comments and concerns,” Leidiger said. “I look forward to hearing from you and making sure your voice is heard in the legislature. Together we can bring about the brighter future we all deserve.”
Leidger can be reached by phone at 651-296-4282. He can also be contacted via e-mail at rep.ernie.leidiger@house.mn, or via U.S. Mail at 415 State Office Building, St. Paul, MN 55155. Rep. Leidiger also encourages constituents to sign up for his email updates at www.house.mn/34a.
