LEGISLATIVE UPDATE

News From Representative Kiel

Yesterday, we remembered the tragedy of September 11th ten years ago. I attended a service in Newfolden where we honored those heroes who displayed such bravery that day and paid the ultimate sacrifice. We will always remember and honor their service. After the horrific events of September 11th, many Americans answered the call of duty by joining our military and choosing careers as police officers, firefighters, paramedics and other uniformed personnel serving our communities every day. These brave men and women have chosen careers that require them to sacrifice time away from their families, and working long hours. They are willing to run into harm’s way to protect fellow citizens, they are America’s true heroes, and deserve our utmost gratitude.

The service I attended was a great tribute and memorial to those lives lost on September 11th. Pastor Gary Barrett organized this wonderful event along with a committee of dedicated area citizens. U.S. Representative Collin Peterson also spoke about the events of September 11th and where he was that tragic day.

May we never forget those who perished that day and our brave men and women who defend our country ever day, so we may enjoy the freedoms we are so blessed with in America.

I have been doing my best to attend many events throughout the district. If you would like me to attend an event that you are planning please contact my assistant Stacey at stacey.neske@house.mn or call my office at 651-296-5091.

Sincerely,

Deb Kiel
