St. Paul – Minnesota’s 2011 Legislative Session officially began January 4 with Deb Kiel and 133 other state representatives being sworn into office during a ceremony at the State Capitol.
"It is an honor to be elected by the people of District 1B," Kiel said. "I am eager to begin my work here at the state legislature focusing on boosting the economy as well as creating jobs in Minnesota."
Most of Rep. Kiel’s work during the first months of session will take place in House Committees. Kiel said she was pleased with her committee assignments, as she will serve as a member on the Agriculture and Rural Development Policy and Finance; Education Reform; Transportation Policy and Finance Committees. Kiel was also named Vice-Chair of the Legacy Funding Division Committee.
