GRUENHAGEN RECEIVES LEGISLATIVE AWARD

ST. PAUL – The Legislative Evaluation Assembly of Minnesota has named Rep. Glenn Gruenhagen, R-Glencoe, as one of its four 2011 House honorees.

Gruenhagen scored 90 out of a possible 100 points in the 21 votes the LEA tracked this year. The LEA indicates it bases its evaluation on the “traditional American principles of constitutionalism, limited government, free enterprise, legal and moral order with justice and individual liberty and dignity.” The LEA’s 2011 review is headlined by a “Time to End the Rule of Special Interests” article.

“Local citizens sent me to St. Paul largely because one of my top priorities is to bring new fiscal responsibility to our state,” Gruenhagen said. “We took some positive steps in that direction during the 2011 session, but we could have done more to put our state on a better path. I am honored to receive this award and remain committed to making improvements that will lift Minnesota from the recession and bring us renewed prosperity and freedom.”

Gruenhagen is the only House freshman to receive the top award from the LEA, a non-profit, non-partisan organization. The full report, complete with scorecard, is available at www.mnlea.org.
