It’s that time of year again! I would love to hear from you and gather your input on a number of this year’s key issues. Would you participate in the 2012 legislative survey this year? An electronic version is available at www.surveymonkey.com/11b2012survey
The topics range from improving our economy to health care to gambling, and proposals to build a Vikings football stadium. And I want to hear from you!

The DFL has taken off on a tour this week, but they are focused on short term, one time stimulus spending. Spending more money does nothing to address the critical reforms businesses have told us they need to create jobs in Minnesota. Businesses need a more competitive tax climate, reduced regulatory burdens and less government intrusion in order to get our economy back on track.
Our jobs agenda in 2012 is to create opportunity for economic freedom, provide tax relief, cut red tape and get government out of the way of job creators.
We will restore confidence in the economy and encourage businesses to hire, relocate or expand in Minnesota - without wasting more taxpayer money on failed stimulus programs.
Tort reform was also discussed on the floor this week and passed out of the House chamber. The Tort reform that passed focuses on avoiding frivolous lawsuits and encourages businesses to grow and stay in Minnesota.
This has been a busy session so far and I look forward to the challenges it will bring as we work toward government reforms. As always, please continue to provide me with your input, you can email me at rep.mary.franson@house.mn or contact my office by calling 651-296-3201.
