As we take a moment on Monday to remember our fallen soldiers, may we never forget the sacrifice they made for our freedom. It is a privilege to live in this country, and may we be forever grateful to those men and women who gave all.
There are many Memorial Day programs across Minnesota and I would encourage you to attend a program in your community. I will be in Warroad for the Memorial Day program. Jeff Parker invited me to attend and speak to those present. A very sincere thank you to those who currently serve in our military, including two of my sons. The sacrifices made by all who serve, and their families, mean so much to this great country.
The Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund allocates grant money each year through the Minnesota Historical and Cultural Grants. The City of Newfolden received a grant this year to fabricate and install an exhibit on the history of Newfolden. They received over $6500 to complete this project. The Kittson County Historical Society also received over $6500 in a grant to acquire approximately 2500 artifacts using a special type of software. This will help preserve the history of Kittson County. It is my hope that this grant money will be put to good use, and these projects will benefit our communities.
6th graders from Franklin Elementary School in Thief River Falls came to St. Paul to tour the Capitol last week. It was a pleasure to have them here. I’d like to thank assistant principal Tony Greene for his help organizing this trip.
As I am back in the district I am enjoying some time with family and friends. If you would like to get together and talk about the session or any ideas you have, please contact my office and I would be happy to sit down and talk with you. You can reach my office at 651-296-9635 or you can email me at rep.dan.fabian@house.mn
Have a great Memorial Day weekend!
