I trust that everyone had a great Thanksgiving weekend. This week has been busy.
Congratulations to the Northland Community and Technical College Pioneers volleyball team, Coach Shamma and Coach Halvorson on winning the region 13B championship and finishing in 5th place at the NJCAA Division III National Volleyball Tournament last weekend! I am sure you and your family and friends are all very proud of your success.
Recently I had a meeting with Superintendent Clow of the Grygla School District. And I’d also like to congratulate the Roseau Occupational Center on 40 years of service to the Roseau community. Your work is much appreciated.
Last week I also met with Chris Harf of the Sanford Hospital in Thief River Falls. We discussed a wide variety of topics regarding their operation and the construction of the new hospital being built on the south end of Thief River Falls.
The new Thief River Falls Care Center is a great place for the seniors in our community. I am proud to serve them at the legislature. I’d like to thank Michele Halvorson for inviting me to tour the facility.
Last Wednesday I toured Canterbury Park in Shakopee. The possibilities that the race park has are very intriguing to me. Many ideas regarding the Vikings stadium are being brought forward and the Racino at Canterbury are of particular interest to me. There are farmers in northwest Minnesota producing feed for the horses at Canterbury. Racino may also give us the ability to pay back the school shift much earlier than previously thought possible.
