This week has been very busy. Last Thursday I took a tour of Central Boiler in Greenbush. A meeting prior to the tour took place to discuss permitting issues with Dennis Brazier, Steve Muzzy and Rick Kezar. Central Boiler is an innovative company that is continuing to grow in Minnesota.
On Friday I met with Roseau County Commissioner Jack Swanson and Mayor Jeff Pelowski to discuss local property taxes. We also discussed the Roseau River Diversion project.
Jane Smith was given an outstanding volunteer award at the Senior Center in Roseau on Friday as well. Congratulations Jane!
On Monday I was a guest of Key Teeters on the KTRF radio program, River Currents. We discussed a wide variety of issues, including ongoing issues with DNR land surveys involving property lines and private property owners. We also discussed the DNR survey issue regarding St. Petri Church. It is my hope that continued work with the DNR will help to resolve these problems.
I have enjoyed dropping in on farmers and those living in our district throughout the week. I have had several conversations with farmers, business owners and those living throughout our district. I hope that everyone will have a safe and successful harvest this year.
I also met with the Two Rivers Watershed in Hallock on Wednesday, and listened to concerns of the board members and local land owners. On Wednesday I also met with the board of directors and Lynn Geller of Valley Home, an assisted living facility in Thief River Falls.
I encourage those receiving this weekly update to forward it to their family and friends and encourage them to sign up for weekly updates here: http://www.house.leg.state.mn.us/members/members.asp?district=01A
