This week four county engineers, Brian Ketring from Roseau County, Lon Aune from Marshall County, Kelly Bengston from Kittson County and Mike Flaagan from Pennington County gave testimony to the Environment, Energy and Natural Resources committee.
House File 1 moved out of the Environment, Energy and Natural Resources committee this week putting it one step closer to a vote on the house floor.
Rep. Fabian said, “Due in part to their testimony, the bill cleared its first ‘hurdle’ and passed out of committee. I want to thank them for coming and look forward to the next step for this bill.”
House File 1 will be reviewed next in the Civil Law committee and should come to the floor for a vote early February.
“I have made it a priority to improve the business climate, help to create more jobs, make it easier for business to expand, and reduce expenses for local governments. It is a privilege to have authored House File 1, to streamline the environmental permitting process,” said Representative Fabian.
