House Republicans Elect Whip and Assistant Leaders
St. Paul - House Republican Leader Kurt Daudt (Crown) announced today
the election of additional caucus leadership. The House Republican
Caucus elected Rep. Tim Sanders (Blaine) Minority Caucus Whip for the
2013-14 Legislative Session.
Rep. Sanders is a steady leader and effective communicator within
our caucus. Our members represent communities across Minnesota and
they have a variety of backgrounds. Our caucus is fortunate to have
Tim to help connect all of our unique perspectives, said Rep. Daudt.
The role of the whip is to communicate information to other members of
a party caucus during a floor debate and prior to a vote.
Im honored to have my colleagues' confidence in this new role. While
Governor Dayton and Democrat leaders are proposing middle class tax
hikes and massive spending increases, House Republicans will be
working together to benefit hardworking Minnesotans, not burden them,
said Rep. Sanders.
In addition, members of the House Republican Caucus elected five
Assistant Minority Leaders. Rep. Steve Drazkowski (Mazeppa), Rep. Tara
Mack (Apple Valley), Rep. Joe Schomacker (Luverne), Rep. Peggy Scott
(Andover), and Rep. Kelby Woodard (Belle Plaine) were all elected to serve
as Assistant Minority Leaders.
I'm thrilled to have Rep. Drazkowski, Rep. Mack, Rep. Schomacker,
Rep. Scott and Rep. Woodard join our leadership team. Minnesotans
will have advocates from across the state in our caucus leadership.
Im looking forward to working with them to ensure Minnesota continues
on the path of economic recovery, said Rep. Daudt.
