Loon receives CGMC Legislator of Distinction Award

ST. PAUL — Rep. Jenifer Loon recently was recognized by the Coalition of Greater Minnesota Cities for her positive impact on economic development policy.

Loon received the award for her successful efforts to extend the life of several economic development related Tax Increment Financing (TIF) provisions that were first authorized in the “jobs bill” the legislature passed in 2010.

“Representative Loon understands the need to give cities the tools to do economic development,” said CGMC Executive Director Tim Flaherty.

CGMC is a nonprofit, nonpartisan advocacy organization representing 75 cities outside of the Twin Cities metropolitan area. The Coalition educates legislators about issues important to greater Minnesota.
