State Representative Andrew Falk (DFL-Murdock) announced today that Dawson-Boyd Public Schools will receive a $34,569 grant from the State Arts Board. The grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board was made available through an appropriation by the Minnesota State Legislature with money from the November 4, 2008 vote of the people.
The competitive grant is part of the Board’s Arts Learning program. The Arts Board selected 46 grantees from a pool of 90 applicants from across the state. Funding will allow students, teachers, and community members of the Dawson-Boyd School District to learn about respect in new ways with artists Perrin Boyd and Ross Sutter.
“I am pleased the Dawson-Boyd School District project rose to the top in the grant process. The artists use creativity to teach about an important issue," stated Representative Falk.
Legacy Amendment arts and cultural heritage funds are used to support arts and arts access, arts education, and arts and cultural heritage throughout Minnesota.
