The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources recently awarded Lincoln County with a $70,166 grant for the Hole-in-the-Mountain walking and biking trail. The funds will be used to construct 1.14 miles of hard surfaced loop trail within the existing Hole-in-the-Mountain County Park.
“It was a very competitive grant process with over 51 applicants and over $4 million in trail project requests. I am so pleased that Lincoln County was able to secure these funds," stated Rep. Andrew Falk. “Hole-in-the-Mountain County Park is one of the most unique places in the state. This award will allow more access to its beautiful prairie and wooded hills and promote outdoor recreation.”
The Local Trail Connections Program funding comes from lottery-in-lieu proceeds and the Environmental and Natural Resources Trust Fund.
