BUDGET UPDATE

News From Representative Anderson

On Thursday Governor Dayton, while speaking at the University of Minnesota, accepted the GOP legislators’ proposal from June 30th , upon three conditions. I am pleased that we were able to work out a budget deal without raising taxes. He hopes to call a special session at the beginning of next week.

This shutdown needed to end, and we need to put Minnesotans back to work. The Governor and legislators are continuing to discuss the details, but we will likely have a budget completed early next week and will have a special session to end this shutdown to re-open parks and rest-tops as well as putting 23,000 Minnesotans back to work.
