ST. PAUL - State Rep. Paul Anderson, R-Starbuck, announces a Minnesota Historical Society grant has been awarded to the Melrose Area Historical Society.
The $2,000 grant was awarded under the “Artifact Collections” category and will be used for the transcription and storage of Edwin Clark letters.
“These grants mean a great deal to not only those who earned them, but to our communities as we work to preserve the heritage of our area,” Anderson said. “The Melrose Area Historical Society should be proud of the strong application it made to earn this grant.”
A total of $147,325 was approved for 39 projects in the State Grants-in-Aid Program funded by the historical society. Requests exceeded the amount of available funds. Those receiving grants must match their awards on a one-to-one basis, but most – including the Melrose Area Historical Society – will exceed this requirement.
