Rep. Linda Slocum to Work With Other Midwestern Leaders on Regional Economic Development Issues
St. Paul, MN –State Representative Linda Slocum (District 63B – Bloomington and Richfield) has been appointed to a regional committee of legislators that will examine key issues related to economic development and workforce development while pursuing opportunities for interstate cooperation, policy-making and information sharing.
As a member of the bipartisan Midwestern Legislative Conference Economic Development, Workforce Development & Labor Committee, Representative Slocum will be working with leaders from 11 states and three Canadian provinces.
In the past, the committee has focused on issues such as creating better linkages between education and workforce development, the role of technology in economic development, and strategies for encouraging venture capital and entrepreneurship. The committee will continue to address a variety of issues that impact the economies of individual states within the Midwest region and the economic health of the region as a whole.
