A time to keep our blessings in mind
To the editor:
Sometimes we get so caught up in our daily shuffle that we take for granted the blessings we have as Americans, but Thanksgiving time when we can pause and think about all the reasons for which to be grateful. I hope you will take time to offer thanks for our blessings, including the sacrifices our brave soldiers continue making to keep our families safe and secure.
The bounty we enjoy as a country is immense compared with others, even as we work to emerge from a recession. Let's keep our blessings in mind this Thanksgiving as we continue to make our way through what is a difficult time for many of us. The holiday season tends to stretch food shelves thin, so I urge you to make a donation to a local food shelf, or make other charitable contributions. Your generosity is especially heartfelt this time of year.
I am thankful I will be able to spend time with my extended family this Thanksgiving. I also wish to express my utmost appreciation for all of the friends I have made throughout District 52A and am humbled by the opportunity to continue representing the wonderful people of our area at the Capitol.
